Birthday Sketch

by Natasha on June 17, 2009 in Uncategorized

Here’s what I’m thinking…

I’ve been a bit under the weather since Friday and haven’t even stepped foot in my craft room. I lied, I did make some burp cloths for my friend yesterday because I’ve been promising them to her for two months, but other than that I’ve had less than zero energy to do anything creative. Until about 10 minutes ago, that’s when I finally had the desire to sit down and sketch Sam’s party dress. I LOVE the way it came out, exactly how I had it in my head! The only thing that scares me is making the cap sleeves fit (I’ve only sewn tanks or overalls so far) and also the buttons down the back. But hey, no guts no glory right? Of course getting the energy to draw a dress and actually SEWING the dress are two very different things. Wish me luck that tomorrow I feel even better than today. (:

I LOVE this idea, but I wanted to let you know…I just made a tutu for a 4 year old the other day. I made the leotard first and then a tutu so they were seperate…both were a bitch and half to make. The spandex was really hard to hem, it was slipping everywhere. The tutu..I thought this would be sooo much fun, but tulle was a bitch. The pieces were really really long and then layering them when a whole nother story and then bunching them and adding ribbon…it was well worth it…but was not fun like i wanted it to be. you are on my friends on facebook, you can see a photo of it on there

I had just left you a comment about how making a tutu is so hard….but look at this simple way of doing it!!!
