Painted Mums Flower Panels

by Natasha on September 15, 2009 in fabric paint window panel, fall decorating, mum window panel, tutorials

Remember the wreath I made last week? Well it’s started all sorts of Fall Chaos in the Samster household! I’ve never really changed my household decorations for the seasons (with the exception of Christmas of course) but the wreath has triggered some sort of seasonal craft mommy button inside me and now I JUST CAN’T STOP!

Here was my summery kitchen window…

And the new Fall season window…
The leaf mobile is from a tutorial over at Centsational Girl (Love Her!)
What do you think of my mum window panels?
Wanna make them? Ok, let’s go…
All I did was paint the following template in a random pattern all over the fabric. You could use panels you already have or fabric and just sew the rod insert. I think this would also look great on a tablecloth or throw pillow.
Print out the template “fit to page” and then either cut it out and use it as a stencil or I suggest you try hand-painting the design. Start with the dots in the center and work your way out, it’s pretty darn easy, promise!

That’s it! Let dry for a bit, hang & enjoy. Oh! I forgot to tell you the paint I used. I didn’t have any fabric paint in the color yellow I wanted so I used acrylic paint. If you plan on washing this at any point however you’ll need to use fabric paint.
Here’s the last little makeover I did for our kitchen table, summery turquoise and seashells from the beach…
And now some acorn squash, pumpkin candles & leftovers from my wreath look festive on a wicker serving tray…

Now all I need is the weather to get cold. I feel kind of silly looking at all my fall goodness while in a sundress /:

I am so ready to go "Fall" in the house, but they are forecasting 90's again this weekend, so I can't quite do it yet. 🙂 I did see pumpkins at the store and all the Halloween stuff at Michaels today and I had to just sigh. Soon!

Those curtains are gorgeous. I was ready to ask you where you bought that fabric and then, of course, you made it! How awesome!

This is the way I'd like to getting my house, actually I'm taking some ideas because my house is really messy and I should change my attitude, since now I'm gonna decorate my house like that, thanks so much.
