Extreme Makeover: Samster Edition (progress!)

by Natasha on May 18, 2009 in decorating, nursery-decorating, room makeover, sleep advice, sleep training

Ok, I’m happy to come out from my sleep training hole and announce that we had progress. Not perfection, but totally tolerable, non-misery, progress. Unfortunetely, sleep training is now coinciding with teething. But at least once we realized the problem I was able to get Samster some infant tylenol before bed and that definitely helped! She still wakes up around 1-2 times during the night but all I have to do is lay her back down, tuck her in her blanket and walk out of the room. Not even a pat on the butt and she goes right back down. Also (PLEASE don’t let me jinx this) she’s not waking up in the 5 o’ clock hour anymore. Sunday it was 6:30a and today was 7a! Woohoo!

Wow, that’s one of those things that I would’ve never dreampt I’d say.

And of course with sleep comes the energy to actual work on the nursery. Here’s what I got done over the weekend…

I painted the ceiling and walls…I LOVE the blue ceiling!

And got done all of my ‘dog park’ theme murals!

It’s still a bit rough looking without the furniture or window treatments but it’s enough to get me really excited to finish it up! Tonight we’re going to move her furniture in (and that nasty twin mattress out, hellooo craig’s list!) because tomorrow morning we’re leaving for Florida for the holiday week. I’m hoping that after spending a week away & not sleeping in her old room it will be easier to come home to her new bedroom. Also I ordered this Amy Butler print below to make some accent pieces for the room, don’t you love it!?
Talk to you later, I have some crafts that I haven’t posted yet so I think I’ll put some up this week while I’m gone.

Wish us happy tanning!
