Green Wedding Gown??

by Natasha on August 11, 2009 in garden weddings, vera wang green wedding gown, wedding show Martha

Did anyone see Martha today? It was weddings week (and I believe a rerun, again) and for the fashion segment Vera Wang was on with her newest Spring collection, of course they were GORGEOUS! But then this little number came down the runway…
I must say, I’m quite captivated by this gown. I know, I know, it’s a pea soup colored wedding dress, who would ever want to walk down the aisle looking like algae? But there’s something about it, I’m imagining a garden wedding with pale pink rose bushes surrounding the guests…maybe gold satin ribbons tied around the white folding chairs. I’d carry white roses to offset the dress, and because I would need SOME sort of white. Don’t want people talking if you know what I mean. And then right as we’d say our “I do’s” some butterfly wrangler would release hundreds of orange monarchs…ahhh, lovely! Well, back in reality I’m not sure how practical a green gown would be, especially in a church wedding but whatever, I’m certainly not planning on wearing any wedding dresses anytime soon, or well, ever. It’s fun to dream though about what I’d do differently…I kind of wish I would’ve worn a big ballgown dress. I went for a slinky vintage style which was gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes I longingly look at brides in their poofdom and wish I would’ve capitalized on my one opportunity to be a fairy tale princess for a day…

Below are a few pics that show my dress, sighhh, don’t you just love pulling out old photos! In fact I think everyone who reads this and has been married should post a picture of their dress, we don’t get to show off the pre-mommy nearly enough!

Also here is a link to the wedding dress segment online so you can see the dress in action and a few others. The picture actually doesn’t do the dress justice at all, even if it is colored pea soup, oh, excuse me, “waterlilly” is I believe what Vera is calling it.

That's a good idea to post wedding dress pics! I loved loved loved my dress. I felt like a cupcake princess. Hense my obsession with cupcakes? Not sure but it's been almost 2 years I guess I should dig them up and post!

I prefer your dress, but the green dress is very interesting. I love Gwen Stefani's pink wedding dress. Very unusal.

I hope Sam is feeling better!!!

If I ever renew my vowels I think a green wedding dress would look great in a garden wedding 🙂

I wore a pale pink wedding dress. And it looked great, and then almost 3 years later my friend also wore a pink wedding dress 🙂 It's about being yourself and I personally think I look bad in white so why would I want to wear it?
