Mommy Outfit: Oversized Sweaters

by Natasha on December 10, 2009 in mommy outfit

How about we take a little break from glitter for one on my favorite things to wear this winter, oversized sweaters…super cozy, figure forgiving & completely mommy friendly. Wear them with skinny or straight leg jeans to balance out the extra fabric on the top.The one I’m wearing is from the sale rack at Anthropologie, I don’t see it online but you might be able to find it in stores still. Here are a few others I love…
(by the way, my dear husband just looked over my shoulder & said that the pics I took of myself with photo booth look like they’re for a trampy online dating ad. To which I said, “Thhhbbbbttt!” Are they that bad?! I was enjoying my little livingroom photoshoot!)

“Nestle & Nuzzle Cardi”, Anthropologie, $69
“Necktie Cardigan”, Anthropologie, $59
“Silence & Noise“, Urban Outfitters, $54Merona Chenille, Target, $20“Open Weave Sweater“, Old Navy, $34.50

I hope you find one you like & stay nice & warm (:

Tomorrow we’ll get back to the glitter with #3 in my “30 for $30” series, it’s a sweet snowflake tutu. I only regret that it doesn’t come in my size.

NO WAY, P doesn't know what he is talking about you look like a SUPER HOT MAMA! BTW I call these cape sweaters (every time I where them I try to spread my arms and fly :), I love these sweaters.

The pics aren't the greatest quality, but who cares?! I think you look beautiful! 🙂 You should totally do a mommy photoshoot!

Your outfits are really cute, but most mothers don't have that kind of cash to spend per outfit. I would love to see more affordable outfits. Once you have more kids, it's not easy to spend that much on clothes.

Sorry Anonymous, that's what I had in mind when I put the Target & Old Navy options but next time I'll try & find more for ya. Also don't think of stuff as per outfit, you can buy one or two new sweaters & make then work as your only new additions for the season. I just like to give moms some ideas here & there to make you feel cute & not lost in sweatpants mommyland.

I've been reading your blog for awhile now. I love the sweater idea I do most of my shopping at Winners and I saw a sweater exactly like the one you were wearing, but I didn't know how I would wear it, thanks for the post. I think the hardest thing for me to find are the plain stretchy shirts that you wear underneath for layering.

Natasha, I think that you look great! P should be counting his blessings. 🙂
I wanted to tell you also, that I browse (too much) through Victoria's Secret online catalog for some very cute sweaters. I buy a lot of them after season, when they are marked down to unbelievable prices!
