Turkey Tie Onesie

by Natasha on November 11, 2009 in boy tie onesie, freezer paper stenciling, tutorials

Several of you have been asking me to create some crafts for all the fellas out there, ask & ye shall receive! I just love this craft for your lil’ gobbler, perfect for the Thanksgiving festivities.

If you don’t have time to make your own I’ve put them in my etsy shop, sizes 0-3 all the way to 18 mths are available & all are new, white, long sleeve gerber onesies.
So enough plugs, on with the tutorial!

Not a whole lot of directions here, it’s basically only a few steps…
1- cut out a tie shape from your freezer paper
2- iron on to onesie, shiny side down (high heat but no steam!)
3- draw your turkey shape with a black fabric marker

4- Fill in with fabric paint, just follow basic coloring rules and stay within the lines. (:
Also I like tulip brand paint, you can find it at most local craft stores. Oh and I did the shading on the tie by using a slightly darker green that I made by adding a little brown & drop of black to the green I used on the main tie area.
5- Once dry iron again to set the paint.
(machine wash inside out/tumble dry low)
If you need more freezer paper stenciling instructions I like lil blue boo’s, you can find them here.
I also have a few other onesie ideas for little boys that I’ll be posting this week, they’re SO cute, makes me want a little mister. But then I realize that would be mean having another baby in the house, and then I think that crafting for your little guy will tide me over just fine…
