Whoaaaa Samster, it’s a snowin!

by Natasha on March 2, 2009 in Uncategorized

You might have noticed the show was “best of” on Friday and today, Sarah had decided to head to Aruba with Ed and her family so P and I thought it’d be good to take a couple of vacation days as well and come up to Connecticut. So far it’s been awesome, we came in on Thursday and P and I took the train into NYcity on Friday. We had lunch at Koi which I have been salivating over for the past week, Martha always talks about how it’s the best sushi in Manhattan! It was pretty good although my expectations were beyond high with a Martha referral. Then we puttered around the city…psling store was a bit of a disappointment. I imagined it would just be this big space with slings in every color dripping from the walls, it was more like a tiny studio and they didn’t have any colors in the Sijara style which is what P was going to get me as a surprise. So we popped in the Coach store that was next door, somehow I rationalized that a new bag was kind of like a sling since I’d be carrying Sam’s things, just not her. (:

Saturday we hung out with P’s parents and were planning on coming back yesterday until this happened…
A HUGE snowstorm! So far we’re up to about 6-7″ but they’re forecasting 8-14″!! Being a Florida girl I’ve never had to shovel snow before, it was fun for about 4 minutes.

And even though my in-laws have a guy that comes to plow the main part of their driveway P just couldn’t resist using their snowblower. So we’re here, for who knows how long, P is completely stressing out since he’s supposed to be on the air tomorrow but I’m sorry, I am NOT going out in a snowstorm with Sam. The kid barely makes it thought the 5 and a 1/2 hr drive home as is, forget having to go 35mph in the snow. No way, no how. We’re staying put until it stops, or at least lightens up. I might have to slip some Ambien in my hubby’s diet pepsi to get him to sit still but so be it. He swears that it’s not that bad out and he would never take us out if it were dangerous but this is also the man that wanted to go for a drive during a hurricane in Tampa. He rationalized that was what Landrovers were made for. We’ll see…I think I’ll call the kennel just in case and let them know Parker and Luc might be staying for a bit.
