{Sunday Love} See Girl Run.

by Natasha on August 22, 2011 in Sunday Love

I realize it might be a tad self indulgent to use my own blog as a ‘sunday love’ post but hear me out…

I was SO pleasantly surprised to get such an awesome reaction for the ‘Couch to 5k‘ post, I had no idea that a.) so many of you have done it & b.) so many of you would be willing to try it with me! I found myself wanting to have a little running chat with each of you who left a comment! And then different running related things have happened since then like my attempt at running with Parker (good for nothing dog) or how my pretty pink shoes might be trying to kill me, & I’ve wanted to blog about these things but if I’m realistic even though almost 100 of you left some sort of running comment there’s still about 5,000 who didn’t. And for all I know 4,999 of those may despise anything running-related. So my point is (I swear I’m getting to it) that I know you come here for DIY’s, recipes & the occasional mommy lifestyle post but not necessarily for my weekly running updates which is why I started up a little side blog called “See Girl Run” for those of you who do want to talk more about it, I thought maybe we could be internet running buddies…

Nothing fancy. Don’t expect my usual pretty edited photos, or any crazy in depth posts, it’s more of a nice casual way that maybe we can support each other & actually get through ‘Couch to 5k’ together. Who knows, maybe next April instead of doing a tutu drive we’ll be wearing tutus to the Disney Princess Marathon??

Or Maybe not.

-ps- I’m sure a few of you are thinking about how I started the ‘unsolicited guide mommy blog’ a few months back too, & now that has disappeared. It actually isn’t gone, for the last few weeks I’ve been doing some contracted writing for a women’s lifestyle site & I’m going to roll that into it…I’ll tell you more as soon as things get going, promise (:

Well you totally inspired me to start running again. The plan seems fairly easy & I might as well actually use those running shoes I brought.

It seems to me that no one really cares about your new site that much considering that you can barely reach 100 comments on anyone post. Maybe thats a clue.

Love the idea of a new site for running chat — I bought the Couch to 5K app this weekend and plan to start running tomorrow! I can’t even believe I’m saying the word “running” …haha, I’m excited though!

I used to run. I ran the San Diego Triple Crown (3 half marathons) and the Rock ‘N Roll Marathon in the same year that I earned my Masters Degree. Needless to say, I totally burned out! That was 3 years ago, and I am totally ready to start running again! I’m going to follow your new blog, find an affordable jogging stroller, buy a new pair of running shoes, and hit the pavement!
*By the way, that Disney Princess Marathon looks sooooo fun!

You’ve given me the kick in the pants I needed to start this program again. I’ve started it twice in the past year and never made it past week 4. But I am determined to see it through to the end this time! 🙂

I think you’ve inspired me to do it, too. Starting next week. However, I want to follow along with you and comment on your new blog, but the comments aren’t set up the same?? Can you open them up for those of us with no blogger or any other account to comment?

I’m in! Read your blog yesterday and did my first run right after work! I found these great FREE podcasts designed for the program. There’s one for each week, and it’s fun running music and the woman tells you when to walk or run. http://runningintoshape.com/5k-training-downloads/

    Good luck Natasha!
p.s. HUUUGE fan of your site 🙂 (and your hubby’s radio show)

I don’t know if I commented on your last post about this, but I started the C25K program on monday 🙂 After tomorrow’s run I’ll be finished with week one! 🙂 Woohoo! I even sewed myself a little ipod armband thing the other day so that I can listen to my podcast without holding it. lol. Which podcasts do you use?
