Cross Stitched Husband

by Natasha on November 9, 2011 in tutorials

Today I cross stitched Peter. He doesn’t have any eyes yet & his sweater vest needs buttons but so far pretty darn handsome, if you’re into threaded people.

You might say with all this rest I’ve become a wee BORED.

I’m actually working on this craft project from MS Living this month, should be pretty darn cute when it’s done. The rest of the fam is all sketched & ready for stitching. The cabin fever got the best of me today & I did go with the girls on an outing to the grocery store. I’ve spent their childhood successfully avoiding obnoxiously large grocery carts that are shaped like racecars, firetrucks & any other transportation vehicle because I knew once you pull one of the those things out you can never go back to a nice normal sized cart. Well today, blame it on the Lyme because for some reason I was totally game. It was so worth it…

They went BANANAS. You’d think I’d have told them it was Cinderella’s carriage & there was a swimming pool of Dum-Dum’s at the end of the ride

.

That’s about it, I miss home but family is wonderful & I am slowly but surely feeling better. What have you been up to this week?

Cute cross stitch! I’ve been home ill myself this week, was in hospital at the weekend, had brain scans etc so pretty scary, hopefully it’s just laberynthitis. To try to keep myself still i have done a cross stitch pic too! I didn’t attempt my own but, looking at how you did it on graph paper i might just try it. I bought designs from etsy. Check out http://www.etsy.com/shop/andwabisabi for some really cute, fun and easy designs! Hope your feeling better x

Those damn carts! I can distinctly remember the first time I gave in and allowed Vinny to ride in one knowing that he would never turn back to boring old plain jane shopping carts. I’m still regretting it.

Glad you’re feeling better! My girls are spaced out about the same as yours, actually a little closer in age (crazy i know!) and i just let them ride that same monster sized shopping cart, also at Publix 😉 and they LOVED it. It’s a big PITA to maneuver though, but it is the only cart that will safely contain both of the little monsters!

I loved cross stitching as a kid! I actually bought a snarky pattern for a friend that says I hate people. lol

That cart video gave me a big smile!

I LOVE this idea! I have already started sketching up my little pixel family. Ive never done cross stitch before, but this seems like a simple enough idea, for a first timer. I’m thinking this would be an awesome christmas present for my mother and mother in-law, that is if itcomes out half decent lol. I cant wait to see how yours comes out!

What a great project! Perfect for recup time. I love your sketches and details. I think I may have to try my hand at cross stitch starting with that project. I also wanted to say hang in there! You will feel better, it’s just going to take some time. It’s tough when you don’t feel good for a long time. I’ve been there and I can relate. Be sure to take it easy and don’t overdo. I imagine your body needs to gradually work up to a routine and I think too much can cause a set back. Take care and get well soon! 🙂

Oh I love that video of the crazy drivers:) The laughs, the faces, so darn cute and so worth it to give in and let them do it. Glad to hear your getting better. You’re cross stitch project is going to be so cool! I wouldn’t even know where to begin to do that.
