Pink french manis & nail art pens

by Natasha on August 31, 2011 in mom fashion, Uncategorized

Love the clean look of a french manicure but hate how those bright white tips leave you feeling like you just walked out of a strip mall in the mid-90’s? InStyle had a great tip in this month’s issue…light pink tips, a new chic update on a old classic. I knew exactly how to do them too, Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens. (nope, they’re so not paying me for this, all though boxes of free polish would be a lovely thank you Ms. Hansen)One thing to note, be sure you’re buying the ‘nail art pen’ not the ‘nail polish stick pens’, those have a regular brush tip so you’ll have no easier time drawing on your tips. For mine I used the pen in ‘light pink’ & Sally Hansen’s ‘Shell We Dance’ from their complete salon manicure line for the top coat. (Both of which I found at CVS)If that weren’t enough to make you fall in love with these art pens just wait until you get a hold of any little piggies in your house…
Sam loved the look so much that she now has me booked in her daytimer for regular Sunday night pedicures.

Tough life kid, tough life.

I love the toenails, totally adorable!! I feel like the finger nails look like they have grown out and the nail polish wasn’t taken off. I definitely prefer the white tips.

Aw, I’m wounded, I love me some white tips. 😉 Then again, I am one of those people that thinks an ’04 van is a fairly new vehicle, hahaha. actually, I tend to soften my white tips with a pale pink semi-sheer polish, i don’t think I’ve ever had them totally bright white in per se.
I like the idea of the nail art pens, those ones look like they work very nicely! I have tried one before by a different brand that just acted like watered down nailpolish, just brutal, totally ruined a good diy mani. I will have to try those! Maybe buy some red and black for some little ladybugs for my little girlie… or some pink hearts…

I like the idea of colorful tips but I’ve never done it. Maybe I’ll give it a try soon! Her little piggie toes are so cute!

Did you have an issue with the pens wiping off? I snagged a white pen from my sister and it always wipes or smudges off. 🙁

You have to put a good top coat on top otherwise it does come off…we have had some issues with that…
